i love jungle/dnb – About

Jungle/DnB is life.

This online drum and bass magazine is published by Kirk Ramdath, a junglist for life.

I'm not an expert, I'm a fan.

My Jungle and Drum and Bass Journey
My first rave was in 1998 in Calgary, Alberta, Canada at the Fire Park. Back in those days in Calgary, drum and bass and happy hardcore usually shared a stage. For a while, I only really knew drum and bass as the side stage where I often ended up dancing.

For a long time, I identified as a house music lover, with drum and bass being a side love. My friends were into house music and Calgary had a great house music scene. It was easy.

Truthfully, drum and bass didn't take over my life until years later. After the freedom and fun of youth fades away, life can be tough. Thank God for the face-melting drum and bass that got me through those times.

Leading finally to the dawn of the Age of Spotify. Finally, I could seek out and listen to as much Jungle / Drum and Bass as I wanted.

Finally, I understood: There is great new Jungle / Drum and Bass music every day. There's a million great Jungle / Drum and Bass songs I've never heard. Even if I tried, I could never listen to it all. But I can try, because –

I am a soldier in the junglist army.
My weapon is love.

My mission: To CELEBRATE jungle and drum and bass music, past and present, and to listen to as much of it as I can.
