Poem

The Way Power Shapes Truth

To participate in mainstream society,
conform to dominant narratives
or be an outsider.

As power becomes fascistic,
the free press we so value,
shows it is not free.
When truth is lies and lies are truth,
there is a test –
Are you aligned with the powerful
or with the oppressed?

Photo shows a concrete rail almost completely covered in fallen white flowers.
	Green shrubbery in the background.

Photo shows a rain-covered sidewalk that curves out of sight in front.
Two small rabbits stand in front of you on either side, like an honour guard.

Photo shows a duck at rest with orange feet partially visible under the water.
Concentric circle waves surround the duck, giving a peaceful vibe.
